EC Summer Course 2022

The excitement was ON! Across the ocean, in Mexico, all friends were glued to the Europe Center through our live streaming, and the ones on site were super excited and ready to jump on stage.

Thanks to many days of joyful effort, the WISH THAT CONNECTS US campaign had finally reached its launching date at the Summer Course.

Our peers from last year projects handed the torch to this year ones in very moving display, leaving more than one teary eye on stage.

Then… all of a sudden, like in a movie, we were all there, via streaming or on site, sharing with the world all the inspiration and colors of the Mexico City Project.

Our campaign was built from the basis of the immense gratitude towards the most beautiful gift that the Lama could give us, and thats THE WISH THAT CONNECTS US:

Connected us as a National Sangha working together!

With the last year projects, now our full time supporters, and with our mighty partners in this year: KDL and Sofia.  ALWAYS TOGETHER

Lama Ole’s power field gave us the boost needed to have the most memorable start for the campaign.

The “International Projects stand” became a lively and joyful meeting point, filled every day with friends taking home some of our colorful merchandise and sharing their interest in our goal, now we had new ambassadors.

The Meet and Connect session was an intimate family reunion that helped dive deeper in information and reinforce the bond to the project.

There is magic at the EC, and we had some magical visitors: Nedo Rimpoche & Co. who blessed the projects and even remained us about his time in the Mexico City Center.

Of course, we filled him with Gifts and a very entusiasthic reception

As a highlight of the campaign, we REALLY wanted to share the true mexican spirit…

***spoiler alert***

WE SUCCEED!!!!

The Mexican night was a blast, filled with high energy and colors.

The Mexican Folk music “Rancheras”  was irresistible to some of our finest kagyus…

The spicy candies and special drinks were a taste challenge for our international friends…

Our “Kermese” games were an absolute homerun!

There are rumors that the “Pollo Loco” (crazy chicken) will become an official sport in Bavaria.

And to wrap things up… The living legend… Mexican Piñata! Risky and extreme, just like our dancing skills.

On the end, we were honored to give a final presentation before wrapping things up and go back home.

Same story: thousands of friends expecting the Lama final appearance at the course, and our message was just the same but with more conviction: Gratitude.

The Wish That Connects Us has given us the Joy of working for the Lama, and has connected  us already with: our national sangha, last year and current International Projects,  and, if the good will carries on…. with YOU

May you be part of this wonderful adventure that invites us to not just open our wallets but our hearths to our Lama´s wish.

Our Gratitude Tree

Our Gratitude Tree

We first visited the house in 2016 and immediately fell in love with the tree that stands tall and strong in this patio. In our bustling metropolis, having such a large tree in the center of our living space is extraordinary and truly a luxury.  Its essence, green leaves, and organic textures starkly contrast with the urban landscape and create an almost magical atmosphere.

This tree has accompanied our growth and development for 6 wonderful years. It has sheltered incredible teachers and has been a beautiful setting for lectures, meals, and even concerts!

At our last vision meeting, we confirmed the trees importance to the Sangha. That day we played a game to imagine the ideal center and draw it. Our tree appeared in every drawing!

What inspires us the most is in October 2018 during our Lama’s last visit to Mexico City Center, he mentioned it too! He said:

“It’s unbelievable to be here again, to see what you are doing, to see your bright faces… And then looking outside and seeing this tree which now go up instead of going to the sides, giving you lots of chances for sitting under it, and enjoy it in every way. And the whole basic feeling, of you all, what you are doing, what you’ve been busy with, it’s growth, it’s really growth, not just a growth in numbers or anything like that, it’s a growth of people who find something that’s important and work with it. They are getting values they can trust. They are finding solutions that they can also share with their friends, and everybody can grow, everybody can have benefit.”

We want to share with you a small but meaningful piece of our center. Here is a leaf from our beautiful tree, a symbol of our connection and our work together. Let’s turn Lama Ole’s wish into The Wish That Connects Us.

With Love,

Mexico City Sangha

The purchase of the Cancun DW Buddhist Center

The purchase of the Cancun DW Buddhist Center

The wish to have a DWB Center in Mexico City has been there for many years. We spoke about it since the mid-00s. As in many other capitals around the world, the real estate prices have gone up, we estimate a property in a good and safe area in Mexico City will be around one million euros.

In 2019 we organized the first international course with Lama Ole Nydahl, in a Diamond Way style, in Cancun. We had already organized the first two Americas Courses in 2014 and 2015. These milestones helped us to consolidate the Cancun DWB Center, and in 2016 we found an excellent house that represented our style and fitted our needs.

Our activity and growth flourished after the Mahamudra Course with Lama Ole in 2019. More than six hundred friends from around the world came, and then it was very natural and obvious that the sangha was ready to make the big jump. Together, as a national sangha, we decided to ask the Lama to buy the Cancun DWB center as the first step to consolidating our strength and confidence.

After the course, Lama Ole visited Cancun DWB Center. He loved it and gave his blessing to buy the house. He added: “This is where you come together. You get to know each other and then for the representative things, you go to the capital. Build on this, it is family, it is friends, it is good, it is perfect everywhere. If we want to make something of lasting importance, we can get together, we can do things, and we can inspire people. This is what we can build here.”

After the visit of Lama Ole to the Cancun DWB Center, he decide to give all the surplus from the course to buy it and he wrote: “This is definitely the best place I’ve seen in Mexico, and I’m very glad our friends are putting their motivation and capacity behind it – this is the basis from which good things can happen. If we can make it here, then it will grow everywhere. If people ask you, please say, it is very important to get this beautiful place.” Thanks to his generosity and many other friends who contribute over the years to the project on March 10th, 2022, we signed the property papers, becoming the owners.

With this achievement, we aim now to find and own a DWB Center in the capital, Mexico City.
